Shop with us on the farm. We are open Fridays between 2pm and 6pm June through October.
CSA
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and the idea is just that - local eaters buying vegetables from their local farmer, and local farmers growing food for their community.
Traditionally, a CSA “share" comes to the customer in the form of a weekly box of mixed seasonal vegetables selected and packed by the farmer. Over the years, farms have put their own personal spin on the CSA model and we are no exception.
Our CSA comes with a lot of flexibility.
Local Families Initiative
In 2020, thanks to the generosity of our CSA members and wider community, our farm was able to provide CSA shares to 10 local families in need. This was the beginning of what we now call the Local Families Initiative -- a beautiful example of community in action right here in Pictou County. Every year since, we have been able to provide 20 households facing food insecurity with a CSA share. This is made possible through financial gifts by community members.
About Us
Hello, we're Keltie and Michael of Small Holdings Farm.
June through October, we sell our veggies and cut flowers at the New Glasgow Farmers' Market and, on Fridays from 3:30-6PM, right here on the farm.
We also offer a flexible farm subscription program -- our unique take on Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).
We grow a rainbow of vegetables, herbs and flowers -- always without the use of pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers. Further, we are driven to contribute to the health of our soil and the larger ecosystems of our farm and community.
